Cars in German Town Found Covered with Swastikas in Blood, Police State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Officers stated they were alerted by a individual who discovered a vehicle in Hanau marked with red-colored fluid

Approximately 50 automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be human blood in the Germany's city of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.

Cars, walls and postal boxes were vandalized, occasionally with swastikas, they stated in a statement.

Police say they were contacted late on Wednesday night, when a man discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued fluid.

The fluid had been applied in the shape of a banned symbol, they added.

Law enforcement then located numerous other marked automobiles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Swastikas are illegal in Germany under laws prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.

Police say preliminary tests suggest the fluid was probably blood from a person.

"Currently there is no lead as to where it came from; authorities are currently not aware of any physical harm in association with the event," they commented.

City officials said they were attempting "to unravel the incident" and have requested to the public for information.

A high-ranking political figure said the incident rendered him without words and needed to be resolved rapidly.

"This event affects the core of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the far-right terrorist attack half a decade ago," he posted on social media, mentioning the killing of nine people by a gunman targeting residents of migrant background in February 2020.
